Carrier Bags
Sainsburys are giving away free bags for life,
Tesco give you 1 green point for every bag you re-use,
Co-op have been manufacturing plastic bags which will degrade within 3 years. Is there anything else we can do.
Why not buy a canvas bag which is sure to outlast all of the above. You could even buy a blank one or create one from scratch. A little project to keep your your children busy and teach them about the environment. Try getting them involved in the design and help creating it with beads and colours and perhaps a recycle logo or a painting of the planet.
The Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP) have joined an initiative to reduce the overall environmental impact of carriers bags by 25% by the end of 2008. Lets do our bit too.
